New & Unique Products

While home use devices have improved in the past few years, many of them are still under-powered and not that effective. How can you tell which ones work?  Here are the best of the new ones, in my opinion. We will be adding more over time and also telling you which ones NOT to waste your time and money on.

  • Timeless Repair Cream with caviar extracts
Timeless Repair Cream with caviar extracts
    Pevonia
    $199.00

    Size: 1.7 oz

    Who It's For

    Normal to dry skin

    Dr. Irwin's Product Review

For normal to dry skin.  Great under makeup. Caviar extract contains 40 minerals and vitamins.  I honestly have no idea which of those 40 minerals and vitamins are really the "actives," but I have to say this product performs well. They also make a caviar serum that we don't carry yet, that can be used under the cream.  Has a light, unisex fragrance that doesn't compete with after shave or perfume. Moisturizing but a slightly lighter formulation than the Marine Collagen Cream.

    How to Use

    Once or twice daily

    Ingredients

Water (Aqua), Squalane, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Glycerin, Caviar Extract, Cetearyl Glucoside, Hydrolyzed Hibiscus Esculentus Extract, Dextrin, Algae Oligosaccharides, Sorbitol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Thioctic Acid, Retinyl Palmitate (Vit. Anyone trying to protect the backs of their hands from light and prevent brown spots.

    Dr. Irwin's Product Review

These gloves are great to protect your hands from the UVA light that comes in through your windshield.  I use them all the time now when I'm driving.  Soft, easy to get on and off, with the tips cut out, so you can use your phone, if needed.   They even have a textured surface on the grip so your hands won't slip on the wheel.

    How to Use

Anytime, but especially good in the car.

  • Stem Cells Intensive Cream
    Stem Cells Intensive Cream
    Pevonia
    $165.50

    Size: 1.7 oz

    Who It's For

    Normal to Dry Skin

    Dr. Irwin's Product Review

For normal to dry skin. Medium weight with plant based stem cell extract. The plant based stem cells are meant to stimulate our own dermal stem cells. Stem cells have shown promise in laboratory tests and are being added to almost everything.  They do seem to produce results in many, and again, it's difficult to know, until there's more research, exactly how they are doing that.   I see this as a product for those who are advanced skin care users who want to try maximize even a little more.

    How to Use

    Once or twice a day

    Ingredients

Water (Aqua), Collagen, Squalane, Glycerin, Cetearyl Glucoside, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Argania Spinosa Callus Culture Extract and Isomalt and Lecithin and Sodium Benzoate and Water, Symphytum Officinale Callus Culture Extract and Isomalt and Lecithin and Sodium Benzoate and Water, Royal Jelly Extract, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (Vit. C), Sodium Hyaluronate, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptides-7, Tocopherol (Vit. E), Sodium Ascorbate, Retinol, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Glyceryl Stearate, Titanium Dioxide, Dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hexylene Glycol, Potassium Sorbate, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract

    Mineral Corrector Palette
    Colorescience
    $54.00

    Size: 0.42 oz (12 grams)

    Who It's For

Anyone with spots or bruises (from cosmetic/laser they want to cover.  Available in two shades, light to medium, and tan to dark.

    Dr. Irwin's Product Review

This the best invention since the iphone (jk). It contains 5 different shades of mineral cover-up that can be mixed to actually cover just about anything including a black tattoo. It covers acne, brown spots, anything red, and bruises!  Put all your regular products on first including makeup if used, then apply.  It works on skin types 1-4. Our patients and staff thought the darker palette for types 5, 6 was too orangey so we don't carry it.

    How to Use

Put all of your products and normal makeup on first.  Then use the little brush to spot treat the trouble spots. Sometimes you need to use several of the colors together to get the right blend and it's fine to do that!

  • Hyaluronic facial moisturizer skin cream
    HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator
    SkinMedica
    $178.00

    Size - 2 oz

    Who It's For

Great for the very dry as a second moisturizing layer, great for oily skin and acne

    Dr. Irwin's Product Review

There's a lot of buzz about hyaluronic acid (HA) as a moistuizer for skin.  What's nice is that it binds water in the skin without adding oil, so it's great at adding extra hydration for very dry skin......put it under your regular moisturizer.  And....it's great for those with oily skin and acne because it hydrates without oil.  Also, helpful when the the weather is hot and humid.  Very light.

The SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel is similar in that it's also almost pure hyaluronic acid, but with vitamin B5 (niacin) added.  The B5 helps to prevent age spots (solar lentigoes) and the "yellowing" that occur naturally in skin with aging. This HA5 SkinMedica product with both short and long chain hyaluronic acid molecules is better for fine lines and hydration.

The price point looks high, but is actually pretty good.  It has double the amount (2.0 oz) of many skin care products.  The SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel is only 1.0 oz, for example.

The packaging is air travel friendly.

    How to Use

Usually after cleansing and under other products, but ok to use with other serums/gels

SkinTour's Philosophy:
Skincare is your best
investment
One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes!
